Kubb

Kubb is a game also very well known under the name Viking chess.

Kubb means wooden block in the Swedish dialect of Sweden. It has been around since the 1990s and continues to be played for many years.

Did you know that there are even championships in the Netherlands? The first was in 2004 and was won by the Helicopters. What should you do A field is made with four corner sticks. Each team then has five kubbs that they place at their feet. The king is completely in the middle of the field. One team has to knock over the cubes of the other team. Bumping is only allowed if the beam-shaped throwing stick ends up on the kubb. The team has six throwing sticks per turn. The kubbs that you knocked over in that turn, you can put as a defense line for your own kubbs. The other team must then knock over your line of defense before they can start on your other kubbs. When all the opponent's kubbs are finished, the king has yet to be hit. The game is not finished until the king is knocked over. Kubb is a very nice game to play with many players.
